of all the seconds in the day, which ones do I give the chance to become a moment truly meaningful.....

Aching Abs
Tomorrow, my abs will be sore from laughing so hard. There are very few comic moments in my life that I have actually considered "knee slappers." Congratulations AF drama, my knee is red and bruised, my abs are sore, and my cheeks are permanently stuck in a goofy grin. My friend Eric and I went to see the play "The Drowsy Chaperone" at my high school. To say I enjoyed it would be an understatement. It was closing night, and it was phenomenal. I have never been to a play or performance or concert that delighted me as much as this one. For some reason, i'm a picky audience. I know it is considered really rude to not clap when someone has performed for you, but its very rarely that i am genuinely moved to clapping. Its not that i don't appreciate a performance and the effort a performer has put into their work, its just that I like to reflect internally on how I appreciate the show. I only clap when I am genuinely very pleased and can't contain my emotion. And i never cat call. Tonight, I screamed so hard and smacked my hands together so much they were bright red. They deserved it. Those actors have come such a long way in their skills. I've known most of them for a couple of years. I performed in plays with more than half the the Drowsy Chaperone cast. Their talent tonight just blew me away. If there is one thing that always amazes me, its the chance to witness someone elses progression. I guess we are all here in life to grow and develop our talents and share them with others. I do love to go see plays and concerts, but it mean so much more to me when i know the performers and can see their development. Sometimes, i wish i had developed skills in acting. Its such an expressive form of communication. An actor gets to become something more, and say something stronger they they would be able to in real life. I guess i've learned to communicate through other means. God gives different talents to each person. Its a good thing I know so many wonderful people with a talent for comedy. It keeps me happy.
